In partnership with the One Drop Foundation, the Makivvik Corporation is implementing the Pirursiivik Greenhouse and Social Art Project in Inukjuak, Nunavik—aimed at cultivating locally-grown produce, enhancing community health, economic development, and food security.

Mutual Design carried out research on how technology mediates Inuit culture, food, and community in order to inform the building stages of a custom application that has the goal of connecting community around the Greenhouse Project and support them sharing knowledge.

The project involved market and user research, participatory activities and focus groups—our process emphasized Inuit-led co-design, balancing technology with cultural relevance.
